PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The overall goal of the Husika Project is to reduce the HIV incidence in Tanzania by preventing HIV transmission between at risk populations, MARPS and their sexual partners; through the following two program objectives;
1. Strengthen the protective behaviors of at risk populations, MARPS and their sexual partners to
prevent HIV transmission; and
2. Strengthen the environment at national and lower levels to enable at risk populations and
MARPS’ access to high quality medical and non medical support and services.
BROAD FUNCTION
The Husika Project Assistant will be responsible in coordinating all aspects of the program preparation and implementation. Lead the planning and coordination of program special events and provide substantial logistical support to Husika project manager in activities implementation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative support
- Schedule, set- up, confirm and participate in Husika stakeholder meetings and- Track and follow up on all communications with partners with regard to approvals- Develop and organize program administrative files and an efficient filing system (paper- Maintaining and update database of Husika stakeholders both at field and national- Coordinate and disseminate Husika project information (mailings and email notices) as
- Acts as focal person for all logistics and coordination of Husika project activities- Assist Husika Project Manager to coordinate implementing teams on the ground in- Develop scopes of work according to project requirement
- Responsible for coordinating transportation of all materials and products required to- Work with Husika program manager to develop and program work plans and budgets
- Travel to the field to support and coordinate Husika activities implementation and- Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
University Degree or a Diploma in one of the following or related fields: Business
Administration, Social Sciences or Public Health
Experience
At least 2 years experience working at coordination of activities level. Background in
health related work experience is an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Conversant with Microsoft word, excel, and power point
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili
